A Life on Pasture
At Farm2Fork, “pasture-raised” means our turkeys spend their lives on green fields, enjoying fresh air, open spaces, and the freedom to follow their natural behaviours. Starting life in a warm, heated barn in early spring, the young birds are soon introduced to the great outdoors, where they can forage, peck, and scratch to their heart’s content. Our turkeys roam the pastures from June to November, taking full advantage of Devon’s mild seasons. Each night, they roost in our custom-built “gobblygo,” a mobile perch that lets them sleep as they would in the wild, providing both safety and a way to express their natural behaviours.
Our two loyal Maremma guardian dogs, Lula and Nala, help maintain a stress-free environment by protecting the turkeys from predators. This gentle guardianship allows our turkeys to roam freely, fostering both their mental and physical well-being and providing them with a peaceful, contented life.
A Nutrient-Rich, Organic Diet
