Better for Nature

The global demand for animal protein is placing huge pressure on the planet’s resources. Every year, around one billion tonnes of wheat, barley, oats, rye, maize, sorghum and millet are used to feed intensively farmed livestock - grains that could otherwise feed people. At the same time, many communities around the world remain undernourished.

At Farm2Fork, we believe there is a better way. By rearing modest numbers of 100% grass-fed animals, we avoid feeding livestock on intensively produced crops. Instead, we use the land as nature intended. Around 60% of the world’s agricultural land is permanent grassland that cannot be used to grow crops, but it can be grazed by ruminants such as cattle and sheep. This makes grass-fed farming one of the most sustainable ways to produce food.

Grazing animals on grasslands offers benefits for nature too, including:

  • Increased biodiversity

  • Improved soil fertility

  • Healthier ecosystems

With the global population expected to rise by three billion by 2050, feeding livestock on crops is simply unsustainable. Eating modest amounts of high-quality, grass-fed meat is better for human health - and better for the health of the planet.
